Directions
As a general note throughout be careful to avoid the application of too much pressure as it will bruise the more delicate fruits. The apples should have their cores removed and the peaches sliced to remove the pit. Each can then be sliced into wedges. The tangerines should be pealed and sliced into cubes. It is best to peal away part (but not all) the inner skin before slicing. Strawberries can either be left whole to act as an accent or cut into slices depending on your presentation preference. Whole strawberries provide a more romantic context. Finally the cherries should be pealed and the pits removed. Carefully mix the fruit together, leaving the strawberries to the side if you would like them as an accent. Do not worry that the lime, mint, sugar and water have yet to be used, they are for presentation.
Presentation
This desert is best served chilled in the glasses which it is served in. To prepare the glasses pore a cup of water into an empty pie pan. Poor the sugar into a separate pie pan as well. Dip each margarita glass’s lip into the water and then into the sugar. Set it gently on the counter to dry. After 10 minutes. Carefully spoon the fruit into each glass. Place a slice of lime over the lip of the glass and a sprig of mint in the top. |
