Palm Pilot Redesign
The Palm Pilot often serves as a tool to help users manage busy schedules and contact information. With extensive functionality, most novices and even experts do not know how to fully utilize the Palm effectively. Novice users in particular have difficulty in learning the Palm's unique interaction paradigm and management tools.
Through thorough evaluation of the Palm Pilot, we developed design recommendations and proposed overarching comprehensive design solutions. As part of a team of 5, we went through a contextual design process starting with affinity diagramming. Through these methods, we addressed issues of control, visibility, labeling and screen organization to arrive at a fully integrated design solution for an office worker.
