01 Overview

"Be inventive. Think about what you can photograph
that supports the image of a meal."

In proceeding to our final design, we had three main foci that guided the creation of Holistic Impressions:

  • Represent a meal as convincingly as possible.
  • Show high quality images of food to entice visitors to the site and show them exactly what a recipe will give them.
  • Convey the same attitude that our recipes do: Provide a site that is impressive and professional.

The quote above speaks to the challenge behind the second point, which was easily the most difficult aspect of our site. We went through many iterations of that concept before finally settling on a group of images effectively conveyed the idea of a whole meal.

In "Design Rationale," we will showcase the various pages of our website and provide justification for the choices that we made. Then in Revisited Use Cases, we will return once again to Bertha's Use Case, and show how her needs are met through Holistic Impressions.
